We went to Parliament!!

MP Tracey Crouch read the Seal Protection Bill on February 9th. The bill was very well received and has a second reading March 18th. Government has also put the bill in the green paper, which is the first step in legislation. The Seal Protection Bill would amend the Wildlife and Countryside Act to make reckless or intentional disturbance to seals caused by a human or dog, drone or vessel controlled by a human illegal across the UK. This is especially important as disturbance nationwide is a growing issue which is having negative impacts on successful pupping seasons. Seal populations are on the decline, and unlike threats like climate change, this is something we can easily control. Watch our legislative journey!
